August 28, 2005 By: Mark Harris SimSim Mobile Voicemail – Many More Useful FeaturesThree new useful features have been added to the SimSim prepaid mobile service. ‘Call-waiting’, ‘Call-hold’ and ‘Call-forwarding on busy’ are to become part of the standard service for SimSim customers – at no extra charge. The new features add to existing options such as Call Line Identification, Call Forwarding, Call Barring, Short Message Service (SMS) and Mobile VoiceMail. Batelco’s Hamza Ali, Senior Manager, Voice Products and Services, said: “We take care to listen carefully to what our customers want. Studies, including our Voice of the Customer survey, and focus groups across the Kingdom, showed a demand by the more than 270,000 customers who currently use our SimSim service.” The Call-waiting feature indicates an incoming call while a customer is already engaged in a phone conversation. And it gives the customer the ability to swap between calls. Call-hold allows the customer to make an outgoing call to another number while the first call is kept on hold. The Call-forwarding on busy feature diverts incoming calls to another number when the customer is already busy on a call. The call can be diverted to a mobile or fixed-line phone, a pager or mobile voicemail. The new features are easily activated. To use the Call-waiting and Call-hold features, customers need to press *43# , followed by Send or Yes. This will activate the features on Batelco’s mobile network. Call-forwarding on busy should be activated through the menus available on the phone.
